GlideWear Receives European CE-Approval

GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patch

Tamarack Habilitation Technologies is excited to announce that the GlideWear® Prosthetic Liner Patch has received the CE Mark for conformance to the European Union Medical Device Directive (MDD).

The official CE-approval on May 11, 2014 was immediately followed by the formal international launch of the GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patch at the OTWorld 2014 International Congress, held in Leipzig, Germany. A coordinated international product roll-out will commence throughout 2014 and 2015 with orthotic-prosthetic (O&P) industry suppliers.

The GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patch is manufactured in the USA by Tamarack Habilitation Technologies and is approved for sale in Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.  Additional package translation to allow expanded European distribution is expected to follow over the next 12 months.

About the GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patch:

The GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patch is a breakthrough low friction fabric technology by Tamarack Habilitation Technologies (Minneapolis, Minnesota USA) that dramatically reduces friction and related shear forces between the prosthetic liner and skin; providing targeted relief and protection against skin breakdown.

GlideWear Prosthetic Liner Patches are available to amputees through licensed Prosthetists at O&P Clinics and from Ithaca Sports (Ithaca, New York USA), a sports medicine internet retailer, serving consumers in the USA and other parts of the world.
